How A Dating Podcast Can Help You Network More Effectively, Part 2

Bela Gandhi, dating coach extraordinaire, hit another home run on a recent podcast. Her guest, Danielle Robay, talks about how you can ask better questions while dating. You can also incorporate many of her creative questions into networking. Her bespoke card deck Question Everything contains 52 thought-provoking questions to facilitate deeper conversation.

I always recommend that you should prepare for networking. And preparing great questions to get beyond “What do you?” will result in better conversations.

You can Google “Good Questions for Networking” or purchase Danielle’s deck to help you get started. Her deck is thought-provoking and also looks beautiful on your coffee table (or in my case, on my ottoman).

I have been considering one card/question a day, which has brought up some great memories. More importantly, it is helping me prepare to ask better questions and be better prepared to answer.

Her deck is now a part of my preparation.

Today I pulled the card What Do You Need Help with Most?  This is a trick question because we all need help, but many of us don’t want to ask for help. Yet psychologists say that when we do help others, it boosts your mood and makes you feel more positive.

Who doesn't want that?

So, asking for help is a good thing.

What do I need help with? I need help with being more technology-savvy so I can widen my audience. If you want to help me, email me at janvkostner@gmail.com and let’s talk!

In the meantime, start incorporating interesting questions into your networking. One of my favorites is “What is a favorite project that you’re working on?” It leads to all sorts of intriguing answers and further engaging questions.
